Team TRIMac Takes Off!

Literally and figuratively, today this is true.  Team TRIMac had a FABULOUS Ironman Florida weekend in Panama City this past weekend.  Not only on Saturday did the Girls Gone Iron absolutely ROCK the beach, but the youth dominated the Kids Tri 2 on Sunday!

Team IRONMac "Girls Gone Iron" totally rocked the Ironman Florida course this past Saturday.  Sherrie Peavy, Robin Safley, Karen McBroom, and Michelle Beitelman all RAN across that finish line in front of Spinnaker's Beach Club and what a finish they had.  Sherrie and Robin were looking for personal records while Karen and Michelle were simply looking for a strong first time finish.  All four received what they had been training for over the course of the past year.  Robin finished first of the group with an 11:18:18 which was good enough to place her 6th in her age group; Sherrie blew away her goal time of sub-13 hours by nearly an hour and a half finishing in 11:41:59; Karen and Michelle had fabulous first time finishes at 13:22:11 and 13:45:39 respectively.  Those girls are nuthin' but steel - oops!  IRON!  Way to "Go Iron!"

Sunday morning Team TRIMac swept the senior divisions of the Kids Tri 2 held a bit farther up the beach.  Savannah Crutchfield, competing in one of the most populated divisions (9-10 Girls) scored 5th with a solid performance. Colin Abbey won the Boys 13-14 age group with ATAC teammate Anthony Stephens wrapping it up in 3rd.  ATAC teammate CeCe Williams took first in the Girls 13-14 age group, and Alex Dehner, you guessed it - another ATAC swimmer - blazed into 1st in the 15-16 division.  Additional ATAC swimmers Lauren Peavy (injured knee) and Lauren Thompson (course volunteer) did not compete, but were on hand as course volunteers and offered plenty of encouragement to their teammates as they flew past them in the turns.

Then, I open my Facebook inbox this morning, and there is a REQUEST - not a response - to join the team!  How wonderful is that?!!?  She came to us!  Holy Smokes - here we go...

Count me in. Tell me what I need to send to get started. I am currently registered for the Half Ironman at Disney May 16th, the NY Tri 7/18, and the Florida Ironman 11/6. So I know I can meet the participation requirements. I will send you whatever is needed for the clothing and am anxious to begin assisting with fundraising and recruiting members. I look forward to hearing from you about what I need to do next.
Thanks for responding so quickly.
